About the Spa:

Experience the balancing effects of Ayurveda Therapy

Ayurveda is one of the oldest surviving holistic medical systems in the world. It offers a rich, comprehensive outlook to a healthy life; its origin is in the Vedas, which is known to be more than 5000 years old. Ayurveda describes the Vedic wisdom of how to live a healthy and peaceful life. Together with Yoga, Ayurveda gives a detailed blue print for a fulfilled life with its goal as realization of truth while enjoying the life to its fullest extent.

IVAC is the first ayurvedic spa in the world to be ISO-certified, which means it’s impeccably clean and well organized. The treatments are top-notch and the english speaking staff are wonderful. All guests who get any treatments, even just one massage, will first have a medical history consultation with the resident doctor. Guests who do comprehensive treatments are guided daily by the doctor with diet and herbs. The doctors are always available and easily accessible; you can sit down and have a consultation anytime.

Choose your ayurvedic treatments, eat a clean and delicious ayurvedic diet, and relax in a peaceful ayurvedic environment for 10 days. Our destination, the Indus Valley Ayurvedic Center (IVAC) has truly created a holistic ayurvedic experience.

About the Accommodations:

There are 4 room types at IVAC. ‘Single” rooms, “Deluxe” rooms, then the “Cottage”, and finally the “Villa”. Single rooms are small and no frills. Deluxe rooms are nice, and the cottages and villas are spacious and quite nice. We recommend splurging on the next best room type if you can; it counts for a lot during the retreat.     More Accommodations photos here!

About Mysore:

Mysore Palace
Mysore Palace

Famous for silk and sandalwood, Mysore is a smaller city with lots of charm and history. Boasting temples, tiger forests, Tibetan monasteries, and grand palaces, Mysore offers exciting sightseeing and shopping with friendly locals, nice temperatures, and clean air.

Much of the yoga practiced around the world today comes from Mysore, as it was here that the legendary T Krishnamacharya taught BKS Iyengar, Pattabhi Jois, and TKV Desikachar, who then went on to spread yoga around the globe.

Mysore is located in the heart of India’s southern peninsula at the base of the Chamundi Hills in the southern region of Karnataka. The city is located between two rivers: the Kaveri River flows through the north of the city and the Kabini River, a tributary of the Kaveri, lies to the south.  The temperature in the fall is perfect with highs in the low 80s and lows in the mid-60s.
